Bolton
Bespoke software and app development for Bolton businesses
Job tracking, scheduling, quoting, stock, customer portals and the apps that go with them, built for the firms that make, move, hire and fix things around Bolton. We're in Bury, about seven miles up the A58, and we come to you.
The kinds of firm Bolton has, and what we build for them
Bolton's business is still largely industrial: engineering and fabrication around Lostock and Horwich, distribution off the M61, builders and trades everywhere, and a town centre of agents, clinics and professional firms. These are the systems that come up.
Engineering, fabrication and manufacturing
Works orders, job cards, material traceability and inspection records, with the shop floor booking time on a tablet instead of a sheet. The manufacturing page goes through it, including the EN 1090 trail for fabricators.
Distribution, haulage and logistics
The estates along the M61 are full of firms with vehicles, drivers and deliveries to keep straight. Runs, walk round checks, proof of delivery and maintenance dates live from the cab. See haulage and scheduling.
Builders, groundworkers and trades
Enquiry to quote to job to invoice, with variations agreed by the customer on their phone and the certificates attached to the job. See construction and quoting systems.
Hire yards, skip and waste firms
What's out, who has it, when it's due back, the examination dates, and the records waste carriers will need for Digital Waste Tracking from October 2027. See plant hire and skip hire.
Field service and maintenance
Engineers out on customer sites all day, with the job, the history and the parts on their phone and the certificate signed before they leave. See field service and mobile apps.
Agents, clinics and professional firms
Appointments, bookings, consent and compliance dates, and the reminders that go out on time. See letting agents, aesthetics and beauty and CRM systems.
If the business runs on a spreadsheet or an old database that one person understands, start with moving off spreadsheets or replacing an Access database.
Seven miles, and what that means
From our office to yours
- Bury to Bolton town centre: about 20 minutes on the A58
- Horwich and Middlebrook: about 30 minutes
- Westhoughton: about 30 minutes
- Farnworth, Kearsley and Little Lever: 15 to 20 minutes
- Bromley Cross and Egerton: about 25 minutes
We don't have a Bolton office, and we'd rather say so than put a town name on a page. What we have is a real office in Bury, a short drive away, and a habit of coming to see the work before we quote for it.
Most of a project runs on calls and shared screens, so where we are makes very little difference to the build. Where it does matter is the handful of moments worth being in the room: walking the yard or the shop floor to see how a job actually moves, sitting with the person who keeps the spreadsheet, and training a team in their own office with their own data on the screen. From Bury, all of Bolton is close enough that those visits happen without anyone making a morning of it.
Afterwards you deal with the same people who built the system. It's hosted in the UK, backed up every night, checked every few minutes, and changed as your business changes. How a project runs is under how we work, and what the looking after covers is on hosting and support.
Around Bolton
The borough stretches from the moors to the M61, and the firms in each part of it tend to need slightly different things.
Horwich, Lostock and Middlebrook
Engineering and manufacturing on the Lostock estates, and offices and distribution around Middlebrook by junction 6. The systems here are works orders, traceability and stock, and multi-site reporting for firms with more than one unit.
Westhoughton, Over Hulton and the M61
Logistics and distribution close to the motorway, with vehicles, drivers and deliveries to keep straight, and warehouses where the stock record and the yard disagree. Scheduling, haulage and stock control come up most.
Farnworth, Kearsley and Little Lever
Nearest to us, along the Irwell and Croal valleys, with trades, hire firms, waste carriers and small workshops. Job tracking, quoting and the driver app are usually the first system.
The town centre, Bromley Cross and the north
Agents, clinics, solicitors, accountants and venues in the centre and the villages up towards the moors. Appointments, bookings, case files, compliance dates and customer messaging are the usual starting points.
Bury, Radcliffe, Whitefield and Prestwich are on the Bury page, Manchester is on the Manchester page, and everywhere else is on the north west.
Questions Bolton firms ask us
Are you actually in Bolton?
No, and we won't pretend otherwise. The office is at 151 The Rock in Bury, about seven miles away. We come to Bolton for the visits that matter, the walk round before the quote, the review and the training, and the rest happens on calls and shared screens, which is how it works for firms next door to us too.
Will you come out to see us before quoting?
Yes, when seeing the work would make the proposal better, which for a yard, a workshop or a depot it nearly always does. For an office business a shared screen often does the same job, and we'll say which we think it is.
Can we come to you?
Of course. We're in Bury town centre, 20 minutes up the A58, with car parks around The Rock and the Interchange a few minutes' walk away. Directions are on the Bury page.
Have you worked with Bolton firms before?
We work with firms across Greater Manchester. We don't publish client names, so our customers aren't turned into a list for other suppliers, but once we've spoken we're happy to put you in touch with a customer in a similar line of work.
Does a firm outside Bolton cost more?
No. Every project has a fixed price, agreed in writing before work starts, worked out from what the system needs to do rather than from a day rate or a mileage chart. Travel to Bolton isn't something we charge for.
What happens after it's built?
The same people look after it. It's hosted in the UK, backed up nightly and kept thirty days, checked every few minutes, and supported 8am to 6pm on weekdays and on Saturday mornings. Changes as your business changes are part of the arrangement, not a new project each time.
Talk to us
Tell us what the business does, whereabouts in Bolton you are, and what you'd like to keep track of. That's usually enough for us to say whether we can help. Wanting it quicker or tidier is reason enough.
Ring, 8am to 6pm Monday to Friday and Saturday mornings, or use the form below. Pick what you'd like to keep track of, add a line if you want to, and leave a name and a way to reach you.
