Get directions

This is the Bury in Greater Manchester, not Bury St Edmunds. The office is on The Rock, the main street through the town centre, a short walk from the market and the Interchange.

If you're driving, the town centre car parks on and around The Rock are the easiest, and we're a couple of minutes from any of them on foot. From the M66, leave at junction 2 and follow the signs for the town centre. From the M60, come up through Whitefield on Bury New Road or join the M66 at junction 18.

If you're coming from Manchester without a car, the Metrolink from Victoria runs straight to Bury Interchange, and the office is a few minutes' walk from there. Buses from Bolton, Rochdale and Rawtenstall come into the same Interchange.

Most first conversations happen on the phone or a video call, so you don't need to come in. If you'd rather sit down with us, say so when you get in touch and we'll put the kettle on. More often it works the other way round: we come to you, because seeing how the work moves through your yard or office is the quickest way to understand it.

02

Radcliffe, Whitefield, Prestwich, Ramsbottom and Tottington

Bury is a borough of towns and villages, each with its own kind of business. All of them are within fifteen minutes of the office, and we've driven to most of them more than once.

01

Radcliffe, M26

Between Bury and Bolton along the Irwell, with the industrial estates and trade units that go with it: fabricators, engineering shops, hauliers, hire yards and builders' merchants. The work here is usually jobs, kit and paperwork, which is exactly what a job tracking system or a kit register is for. Ten minutes from the office down the A56.

02

Whitefield, M45

On the M60 at junction 17, so a natural base for firms whose vans and drivers cover the whole of Greater Manchester: field service, deliveries, property maintenance. Those firms tend to need the office and the road working from the same record, which is where a driver or engineer app comes in. This is the Whitefield in Greater Manchester, by the way, not the one near Preston.

03

Prestwich, M25

Closer to the city, with a village centre full of independent businesses: clinics, salons, agents, practices and professional firms. The systems here are more often about customers and appointments than about vans, so scheduling, customer messaging and compliance records come up most. Fifteen minutes from the office, or two stops short of us on the Metrolink from town.

04

Ramsbottom, BL0

Up the valley, with a strong run of food and drink producers, makers and venues alongside the usual trades. Producers need batch records and traceability, and venues need enquiries, bookings and the running order on one screen, so the food producers and venues pages are the ones to read. Ten minutes up the A56 from the office.

05

Tottington, Walshaw and Ainsworth, BL8

The villages to the west of the town, home to a lot of trades and small contractors who run the business from a van and a kitchen table. For them the first system is usually quoting and jobs, with the paperwork generated rather than typed, which the quoting and forms and e-signatures pages cover.

Bolton, Rochdale, Heywood and Salford are all within half an hour too. There are pages on Bolton, Manchester and the north west as a whole.

The kinds of Bury business we build for

Bury's economy is still largely firms that make, move, hire and fix things, with a growing number of clinics, agents and venues. They have one thing in common: a spreadsheet, a whiteboard or a paper system that the whole business depends on.

Yards, workshops and depots

Hire firms, skip and waste carriers, hauliers, fabricators and engineering shops. The system tracks what's out, what's due back, which inspection falls due next, and what each job has cost so far, and the drivers and fitters update it from their phones.

See plant hire, skip hire, haulage and manufacturing.

Trades and contractors

Builders, groundworkers, electricians, plumbers, roofers and installers. Enquiry to quote to job to invoice, with the certificates and photos attached to the job rather than lost in someone's phone.

See construction, field service and quoting systems.

Clinics, agents and venues

Aesthetics clinics and salons, letting and property agents, wedding and function venues. Appointments, bookings, consent forms, certificates and the reminders that go out on time without anyone remembering to send them.

See aesthetics and beauty, letting agents and venues.

Offices that run on spreadsheets

Any firm where the important record is a workbook that one person understands. We turn it into a system with proper records, a history, and reports that are right first time, without stopping work while it happens.

What a local firm changes

Being ten minutes away

  • We can walk the yard before we quote
  • Training happens in your office, with your data
  • The same people answer the phone afterwards
  • A fixed price in writing before anything starts
  • Hosted in the UK, backed up every night

Most of a software project happens on calls and shared screens wherever the developer is. Where being in Bury helps is the handful of moments when it's worth being in the room. We can come and watch a job move from the phone call to the invoice before we write a word of the proposal, so the price is based on how your business actually works rather than on a form you filled in.

When the system is ready, training is done in your office with your own data on the screen, for the people in the office and for anyone on the road. For the first week or two it usually runs alongside what you use now, and if something needs changing in that time, we're a phone call and a short drive away.

Afterwards, you deal with the same people who built it. It's hosted in the UK, backed up nightly, checked every few minutes, and changed as your business changes. How a project runs is set out under how we work, and what the looking after covers is on hosting and support.

If you'd like to start with a conversation rather than a project, the free business systems assessment is an hour in your office or ours, and you leave with written recommendations whether or not you ever ask us to build anything.

Questions people in Bury ask us

Is this the Bury in Greater Manchester or Bury St Edmunds?

Greater Manchester. The office is at 151 The Rock, Bury BL9 0ND, in the town centre between the market and Bury Interchange. We've never been mistaken for the Suffolk one in person, but Google sometimes is.

Will you come out to us?

Yes, and in Bury, Radcliffe, Whitefield, Prestwich, Ramsbottom or Tottington it's a short drive, so we usually do. Seeing the yard, the workshop or the office in full swing is the quickest way to understand how the work moves, and it makes the proposal better.

Can we come to the office instead?

Of course. Ring or use the form to arrange a time, 8am to 6pm on weekdays or on a Saturday morning. The town centre car parks around The Rock are the easiest, and we're a few minutes' walk from Bury Interchange if you're coming on the Metrolink or a bus.

How far are you from Bolton, Rochdale and Manchester?

Bolton and Rochdale are each about twenty to twenty five minutes by car. Manchester city centre is about half an hour on the Metrolink from Bury Interchange, or thirty to forty minutes by road depending on the time of day. We work with firms in all three, and the distance makes very little difference to how a project runs.

Can you name Bury firms you've worked for?

We don't publish client names, so our customers aren't turned into a list for other suppliers. Once we've spoken, we're happy to put you in touch with a customer in a similar line of work who can tell you what we're like to deal with.

Does working with a local firm cost more?

No. Every project has a fixed price, agreed in writing before work starts. The price comes from what the system needs to do, after we've looked at it with you, not from where either of us is.

Do you only work with businesses in Bury?

No. Bury is home, and most of our customers are in Greater Manchester and Lancashire, but the work happens on screens, so the rest of the UK is a video call away. There's more on the north west page.
