Bespoke software development for Manchester businesses

Business systems and mobile apps for firms across Manchester and Greater Manchester, built by a small team in Bury, half an hour up the Metrolink. Fixed prices in writing, hosted in the UK, and looked after afterwards by the people who built them.

A different kind of software company

What you get from us

  • A fixed price in writing before anything starts
  • The people who design it also build and support it
  • A first system usually live in weeks
  • Hosted in the UK, backed up every night
  • Cyber Essentials certified
  • Half an hour from the city centre

Manchester has plenty of software agencies. Most are built for big projects, with account managers, day rates and a team that changes after go-live. We're built for the firm that needs one system done properly and someone to ring afterwards.

That means a fixed price rather than a day rate, so the risk of the job taking longer is ours. It means the people on the first call are the people who build the system and the people who answer the phone two years later. And it means the system is hosted and looked after by us, in the UK, rather than handed over with a manual.

We build the systems operational businesses run on: job tracking, scheduling, quoting, stock, CRM, customer portals, reporting and the mobile apps that go with them, with AI features where they save real time. The full list is on the services page.

The Manchester firms it suits

Not the start-ups and not the corporates. The established businesses in between, with jobs, assets, customers and paperwork to keep straight, that have outgrown the spreadsheet and don't fit the packages.

Trafford Park, Salford and the estates round the M60

Manufacturers, distributors, wholesalers and hauliers. Works orders and traceability, stock that agrees with the warehouse, runs and deliveries live from the cab, and the reporting across more than one site. See manufacturing, haulage and multi-site systems.

Construction, fit-out and the trades

Contractors working across the city's sites, with variations to agree, certificates to keep and subcontractors to pay. Enquiry to final account on one record, and the site team on the app. See construction and field service.

Professional and property firms

Solicitors, claims firms, letting and managing agents, debt management and the firms that run on files, dates and correspondence. Case management, compliance records and portals their clients can log into. See legal and claims, letting agents and debt management.

Clinics, salons, venues and hospitality

Appointments, bookings, consent forms, dietary notes and the running order for the day, with reminders that go out on their own. See aesthetics and beauty and venues.

If what you have now is a spreadsheet or an old database that one person understands, that is where most of our projects start: moving off spreadsheets and replacing an Access database explain how the switch goes without stopping work.

Meeting in Manchester

Getting to each other

  • Bury to Manchester Victoria: about 30 minutes on the Metrolink
  • By road: the M66 and M60, or Bury New Road through Prestwich
  • Trafford Park and Salford Quays: 40 minutes or so
  • Stockport, Tameside and Oldham: within the hour
  • The office: 151 The Rock, Bury BL9 0ND

We're not a city centre agency and we don't pretend to be. The office is in Bury, at the top of the Metrolink line, which puts us half an hour from Victoria and a short drive from anywhere on the M60. For the meetings that are worth having in person, the walk round the warehouse or the site, the review with your team, the training, we come to you. For the rest, a video call at a time that suits you.

If you'd like to see where the work is done, you're welcome in Bury. Directions, parking and the Interchange are on the Bury page.

Everything in between a free 20-minute call and go-live is set out under how we work: the walk through, the fixed price, the review with your own data, the training, and the first week running alongside what you use now.

Questions Manchester firms ask us

Why use a firm in Bury rather than one in town?

Because the thing that matters is who builds it and who looks after it, not the postcode. You get a small team that quotes a fixed price, builds the system themselves, hosts it in the UK and answers the phone afterwards, half an hour from the city centre. Several of the "Manchester" software firms you'll find online are further away than we are.

Do you take on larger projects?

Yes. A system that runs a whole department goes live in pieces, the most useful part first, each piece priced and dated in writing. What we don't do is open-ended day-rate work, because a fixed price keeps everyone honest about scope.

Can you work with our IT support company?

Yes, and we usually do. They look after the PCs, the network and the email; we build and host the system. The two rarely overlap, and where they do, such as single sign-on or a connection to something on your network, we agree it with them at the start.

Can you name Manchester clients?

We don't publish client names, so our customers aren't turned into a list for other suppliers. Once we've spoken, we're happy to put you in touch with a customer in a similar line of work who can tell you what we're like to deal with.

Where is the system hosted, and who owns the data?

On UK infrastructure, backed up every night to somewhere other than the machine running it, kept thirty days, and checked every few minutes. The data is yours. You can export it whenever you ask, and if you ever leave we hand it over in a form another system can read.

How quickly can we start?

A first call this week, a walk through the work the week after, and a fixed price shortly after that. A first system is usually live in weeks rather than months. How long it takes, and what decides it, is explained in this guide.
