About RCSC

A software company in Bury, Greater Manchester

We build the operational systems UK businesses run on, and then we run them. Job trackers, registers, schedules, portals and the phone apps that go with them, hosted in the UK and looked after by the same people who built them, for as long as you keep them.

01

What we do

Two halves of one job

  • Build the system around how the work already moves
  • Put your team on it, office and road
  • Host it, back it up and watch it
  • Change it as the business changes

Building it is where it starts. Running it is most of the relationship.

Most businesses run on something that started small: a spreadsheet, a whiteboard, a package that fitted five years ago. We turn that into a proper system with logins, history and backups, and then we keep it working.

The systems are operational rather than decorative. Where a job is, who has the kit, which certificate runs out on Friday, what went out on which order. The kinds of system we build each have a page of their own, and some trades keep records alike enough to have a sector page too.

Because we look after everything we build, we build it to last. Fewer moving parts, documented as we go, and plain enough that your team uses it without a manual open beside them. Anything we make hard to run is something we have to run.

Where field teams need it, the same system comes with an app for iPhone and Android, published to the App Store and Google Play. Where a mobile web app will do the job just as well, we say so.

We also build AI features into the systems we make, where they save time: answering website chats and phone calls, drafting quotes and documents from the data already held, and checking paperwork against the job. A person stays in charge of anything that matters.

02

Who you deal with

The people who design, build and support your system. Nobody in between.

No account managersThe person you explain the work to is the person who builds it, so nothing is lost in a handover.
No call centreSupport goes direct to the team that built your system, 8am to 6pm on weekdays and Saturday mornings.
No handover after go-liveYour system is not passed to a support team you have never met. The people who know why it works the way it does are the people who answer when you ring.
Mostly over videoMost of the work happens on video calls and the phone. We are happy to visit when seeing the yard, the depot or the office helps.
03

What we are like to work with

A fixed price, in writing

We look at the job first rather than quoting from a description, then agree scope, price and dates in writing before any work starts. What is not included is written down as plainly as what is. If you ask for something outside that scope, we tell you before we do it, not after.

Straight answers

If something will take longer than you hoped, you hear it before you commit. If the right answer is to make better use of the software you already have, we say so. If it isn't for us, we say that too and point you somewhere useful.

No follow-up sales calls

A quote is a quote, not the start of a chase. It holds for thirty days. If you decide not to go ahead, that is the end of it.

Your data stays yours

Exported in a standard format whenever you ask, including on the day you leave. There is no minimum term on hosting and support, and either side can end it. The detail is in our terms of business.

The office

Where to find us

  • 151 The Rock, Bury, Greater Manchester BL9 0ND
  • 0161 388 2444
  • 8am to 6pm weekdays, and Saturday mornings
The RCSC workspace in Bury, Greater Manchester.

We work from an office on The Rock in Bury town centre. Customers come from Manchester, Lancashire, Cheshire, Yorkshire and the rest of the UK, and the distance rarely matters, because the work is done on screens either way.

We are Cyber Essentials certified, assessed independently against the government-backed scheme. Systems we host run on mainstream UK infrastructure rather than anything of our own making, backed up nightly off the machine that runs them. What that involves day to day is on the hosting and support page.

05

Why we don't name our customers

A public client list is a ready-made prospect list for every other supplier. Our customers didn't sign up to be one, so we don't publish their names.

That is also why there are no logos and no case studies on this site. The screens you will see on our service and sector pages come from example systems, and every firm in them is invented.

We know that makes us harder to check. So after a free 20-minute intro call, we will put you in touch with a customer in a similar line of work, and you can ask them what we are like to deal with, without us on the line.

06

Who we suit, and who we don't

Where we tend to fit

  • Businesses with jobs, kit or records to keep straight
  • Something the business can't trade without, ready for a proper system
  • People out on the road who need the same picture as the office
  • One depot now, possibly several later
  • Owners who would rather ring the person who built it than log a ticket

That is the shape of work we suit rather than a list of who has bought from us.

What we are straight about

Accounts, payroll and email are best left to the packages that do them well. We build the part that is your own: the work, the kit and the paperwork, joined to what you already run.

We look at the work before we put a number on it. A fixed price we can keep needs that, so we would rather spend an hour walking through the work with you than guess from a paragraph.

And nothing has to be going wrong for a system to be worth having. Wanting the day to run quicker, or wanting the figures without chasing them, is reason enough.

The order a project runs in, from the intro call to the week it goes live, is set out step by step on how we work.
